Footage shows women and children petting the reptile, which was wearing a Minion-themed collar, on August 2.

They touched its cheeks while it lay still, unfazed by the attention.

Tegus are native to South America and are popular in the exotic pet trade due to their intelligence and relatively docile nature when tamed. However, they can grow quite large—up to 4 to 5 feet in length.
