United States - July 30, 2025 Time-lapse footage reveals the Dragon Bravo Fire producing a massive pyrocumulus cloud, a towering formation created by extreme heat pushing smoke into the upper atmosphere. The intense flames force smoke high into cooler air, where water vapor condenses and forms what experts call a pyrocumulus, or “fire cloud.” These clouds are known for their raw power. In some cases, they can trigger lightning storms—or even tornados. As the column continues rising, smoke from the Dragon Bravo Fire is seen drifting north into nearby towns. Health officials warn that breathing wildfire smoke can be dangerous. Residents are advised to stay indoors, keep doors and windows shut, and use air filters. Those who must go outside are urged to wear N95 masks and avoid physical activity.
