United States - August 05, 2025 San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, California – The Gifford Fire continues to burn fiercely across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, demanding relentless efforts from firefighting teams on the ground. Dozer 1447 team members HFEO Bohan and Dozer Swamper Escobedo have been battling the blaze, working tirelessly to slow its spread. A bonus clip captured Tanker 122 delivering fire retardant directly onto the fire, supporting ground crews in their efforts. The Local Unit (LNU) has deployed 31 state fire engines and six dozers, the largest fleet among all 21 CAL FIRE Units. This extensive equipment allows LNU to cover a vast responsibility area and send aid to other critical zones as needed.
