VARIOUS OF SPEECHES DURING RALLYBEIRUT, LEBANON - SEP.1: On Monday, Sep. 1, Lebanese journalists gathered at Martyrs’ Square in Beirut to express solidarity with their Palestinian colleagues targeted in Israeli attacks. Protesters carried Palestinian flags, placards, and photos of slain journalists while condemning Israel’s assaults on the press. Israeli strikes on Gaza killed to 247 media workers since the war began, according to the Gaza Media Office. Israel has killed nearly 63,500 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
