VENICE, ITALY - SEPTEMBER 6: The 82nd Venice International Film Festival concluded on a high note Saturday with a star-studded closing ceremony that celebrated a diverse range of cinematic achievements from around the world.

The prestigious Golden Lion award for best film was presented to acclaimed American independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch for his work, "Father Mother Sister Brother." The win marks a significant accolade for Jarmusch, a long-revered figure in the film industry.

Meanwhile, the Silver Lion for best director was awarded to Benny Safdie for his film "The Smashing Machine." Safdie, known previously as one half of the filmmaking duo the Safdie Brothers, was recognized for his individual directorial effort.

The ceremony, held on September 6th, saw international stars, directors, and guests walk the red carpet one final time to cap off what was widely described as a robust and successful edition of the world's oldest film festival.

Heading into the night, one of the most discussed films was Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania’s "The Voice of Hind Rajab." The powerful drama, set in Gaza, tells the story of a 6-year-old Palestinian girl’s desperate pleas for rescue after her relatives were killed. The film had made a profound impact during its premiere, receiving a thunderous 21-minute standing ovation, one of the longest in the festival's history, and was widely considered a frontrunner for the top prize.
