6. KYRGYZ STATE NATIONAL SECURITY COMMITTEE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN KURVANBEK AVAZOV SPEAKING CHOLPON-ATA, KYRGYZSTAN - SEPT. 10: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) convened the 44th Council Meeting of its Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) on Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
The session was chaired by Kyrgyz State National Security Committee Deputy Chairman Kurvanbek Avazov, with representatives from member states including China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, India, and Pakistan in attendance.
Avazov said discussions addressed cooperation against terrorism, separatism, and extremism, highlighting rising security challenges in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, delegates signed a series of documents, and Pakistan assumed the rotating chairmanship of RATS.
