Due to overcrowding in the south, Palestinians set up tents on Khan Younis coast despite risks from the sea.

Displaced Palestinians move as far as possible within the 365-square-kilometer area, much of which remains under Israeli control.

Refugees who set up tents on Khan Younis coast try to survive amid hunger and thirst while hoping for an end to the attacks.

They express concerns that approaching winter could bring large waves to submerge their tents.

Palestinians sheltering on Khan Younis coast face challenging living conditions.

Without available water, they use salty sea water to wash dishes, laundry, and bath.

Women scrub dishes with sand and rinse them in sea water due to lack of detergent.

They dig small trenches around tents along the shore to mitigate constant risk of submersion by sea waves.

The Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 12,823 people and injured 54,944 others, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
