United Kingdom - September 23, 2025 The US aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford took part in Neptune Strike 25-3 under NATO command, a multinational maritime vigilance activity. Neptune Strike 25-3 was a long-planned enhanced vigilance exercise intended to showcase integrated high-end maritime strike capabilities and air-land coordination. Up to 20 surface vessels and submarines joined, along with Special Operations Forces from several countries and numerous aircraft, bringing together more than 10,000 sailors, soldiers, aviators and marines. The activity ran from 22 to 26 September 2025 across a wide area of Europe, stretching from the central Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea northward to the North and Baltic Seas. In the North Sea, the carrier strike group led by USS Gerald R. Ford operated with US destroyers USS Winston S. Churchill and USS Mahan, the French frigate FS Bretagne and other vessels; the Danish frigate HDMS Niels Juel also participated in these waters. Footage shows F/A-18 Super Hornets manoeuvring and conducting takeoffs and landings on the Gerald R. Ford’s flight deck, and includes interviews with commanding officers from the British Army and the French Navy.
