4. DEMONSTRATORS HOLDING PALESTINIAN FLAGS AND BANNERS CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - SEPTEMBER 27: Hundreds of demonstrators gathered Saturday, Sept. 27, outside South Africa’s historic Parliament building in Cape Town to protest Israel's genocidal war in Gaza.

The rally was organized jointly by the ruling African National Congress (ANC), the opposition uMkhonto weSizwe party (MKP) and several other political groups and civil society organizations.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners and denounced ongoing atrocities in Gaza.

The Israeli army has killed nearly 66,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave uninhabitable and led to starvation and the spread of diseases.

Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
