VARIOUS OF DEMONSTRATORS WEARING WHITE UNIFORMMADRID, SPAIN - SEPTEMBER 21: Healthcare workers in Spain took to the streets in different parts of the country over the weekend to protest against Israel's genocide in Gaza. Gathering in front of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid Saturday and in front of the Ministry of Health building Sunday, healthcare workers held up banners reading “No to Genocide. Stop the War.” Wearing white coats and painting their hands red, the healthcare workers commemorated their Palestinian colleagues who lost their lives in Israel's attacks, chanting slogans such as “Free Palestine,” “Ceasefire now,” and “Murderer Israel.” A manifesto has been read during demonstration to emphasize that the Spanish society has been raising its voice against Israel by mobilizing in all sectors over the past few weeks and calling on the international community to take action. Speaking on behalf of healthcare workers, they stated, “We do not want to witness destruction and daily massacres. Israel is killing people in Gaza before our very eyes. Israel is trying to silence their cries, their protests, their calls for humanity under most brutal and inhumane treatment." Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza has killed more than 65,000 Palestinians since October 2023 and devastated the enclave, which faces famine. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its war in the territory.
