Located in Tripoli’s Old City near the historic port, the mosque was commissioned in the early 19th century. Unlike other Ottoman mosques in North Africa, it is distinguished by its rich tile ornamentation and its prominent location in the heart of the former Tripoli Eyalet’s administrative center.
