EXTERIOR OF 10 DOWNING STREETLONDON, UK - OCT. 2: On Thursday, Oct. 2, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer cut short his trip to Copenhagen and returned to London following a knife attack outside a synagogue in Manchester. Two people were killed and three others wounded in an attack outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue in Manchester on Thursday, and a man believed to be the attacker was shot by police, authorities said. Before his return, Starmer addressed the European Political Community (EPC) summit, warning that Russia’s aggression extends beyond Ukraine into wider Europe. He cited cyberattacks and airspace violations as signs of Moscow’s broader strategy and urged allies to remain united in defense of European security and values. Starmer also called for sustained military aid to Ukraine and the use of frozen Russian assets for reparations, stressing coordination with the US and NATO partners.
