This is the amusing moment a resident was woken up by a wild bird tapping on his window.

Uthen Chanphithak was taking a nap when he heard the persistent knocking on his bedroom window in Chonburi, Thailand.

When he parted the curtains, he saw a Sunda collared dove perched on the grilles.

Footage shows the curious bird continuously pecking at the glass and attempting to look inside through the tinted window.

U-Then said: 'I wasn't expecting to wake up like this.'

The Sunda collared dove is a medium-sized bird native to Indonesia. It has a pale grey body with a distinctive black collar around its neck and is often seen in open woodlands, farmlands, and village areas.
