A counter-demonstration in Israel drew both Arab and Jewish participants, including figures with backgrounds in national security. Among them was Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a senior Hamas leader who later worked with Israeli intelligence.

The protest was organised in response to the flotilla led by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, which was intercepted by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) before reaching Gaza. According to Israeli authorities, inspections of the vessels revealed no humanitarian aid on board, despite organisers’ claims that the mission was intended to deliver supplies.

The counter-protesters voiced strong opposition to the flotilla, framing it as a political stunt rather than a genuine humanitarian effort.
