This is the impressive moment a grandfather scored a three-point shot during a basketball half-time competition.

Ten spectators took turns attempting to score during a break in the tournament at the Naval Gymnasium in Biliran, the Philippines, when an elderly fan made an incredible shot.

Footage captured by Pamela Japay shows the participants queuing for their turn on September 30.

Moments later, pensioner Nestor Regodo, wearing a blue shirt, threw the ball and sank the three-pointer.

This prompted cheers from the shocked and delighted crowd after previous participants had failed to score.

The visibly thrilled winner rushed over to the host and judges to claim his prize money. The city's Vice Mayor then rewarded Nestor with 1,000 PHP (approximately 13 GBP).

Pamela said: 'This was a game between the hometown team, the Dasig Naval Eagles, and the visiting team, Diovanni's Leyte. We were so happy that the elderly man won the game, my friends and I just gasped! They said he was a basketball player when he was young.'
