Delve into the history of St Peter's Church, born from the perils faced by Captain Schuyler of the Royal Navy. This iconic Flushing church stands as a testament to faith and maritime heritage, a beacon for the Christian community since its completion in 1815.
St Peter's, the Parish Church for the beautiful, friendly village of Flushing, which stands on the edge of the Carrick Roads opposite Falmouth. Once home to the Captains of the Falmouth Packet Mail Ships, the village has a long association with the sea. The packet ships were often involved in sea battles with Britain's wartime foes. One such packet, Captain Adoniyah Schuyler, Royal Navy, having survived a fearful storm, was moved to leave a legacy to build a church in his home port of Flushing. The church is now a listed historical building and still serves the wider Christian community.
