Netherlands: 250,000 March In Amsterdam Demanding Ceasefire In Gaza
Amsterdam, Netherlands - October 05, 2025 On October 5, 2025, around 250,000 people joined the third "Red Line" demonstration, marching about 6 kilometres through the city to Dam Square. The massive protest opposed Israel’s war in Gaza and demanded a Dutch arms embargo, an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and the release of aid flotilla activists detained by Israel. Video filmed by Halil Ozdemir showed the dense crowd marching under light rain, waving Palestinian and Turkish flags, wearing red keffiyehs, and holding umbrellas while chanting slogans. One large banner read "DÜNYA GAZZE İÇİN TEK YÜREK," meaning "World is one heart for Gaza." The march was part of a global series of coordinated demonstrations against the conflict that has killed more than 42,000 Palestinians since October 2023. The event remained peaceful, with participants of all ages calling for stronger action from the Dutch government.
