China: China's manufacturing sector sees steady growth in first three quarters

Storyline: China's manufacturing industry maintained steady expansion in the first three quarters of this year, with total sales revenue increasing 4.7 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the State Taxation Administration on Wednesday. The manufacturing sector accounted for 29.8 percent of total corporate sales revenue nationwide during the January-September period, the data showed. In the same period, Value-added invoice statistics showed accelerated transformation of the industry toward high-end manufacturing. Equipment manufacturing led the growth with sales revenue rising 9 percent year-on-year. In particularly, sales revenue in sectors such as computer communication equipment and industrial mother machines achieved double-digit year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, tax revenue from the manufacturing sector increased 5.8 percent year-on-year, with notable performance in high-end manufacturing segments such as new energy vehicles, railway ships, and aerospace equipment.
