China: China adds 10.57 mln new urban jobs in Jan-Sept
China has created a total of 10.57 million new urban jobs in the first nine months of 2025, achieving 88 percent of its annual target, official data showed on Wednesday. The country has intensified efforts to support employment since the beginning of this year, maintaining a stable job market, according to Cui Pengcheng, spokesperson for the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday. In the January-September period, China disbursed 19.6 billion yuan (about 2.76 billion U.S. dollars) in job-stabilizing refunds and 16.6 billion yuan (about 2.34 billion U.S. dollars) in subsidies for training programs. The temporary reduction in unemployment insurance premiums has cut labor costs for enterprises by 138.4 billion yuan (about 19.5 billion U.S. dollars). Tailored employment services targeting key groups were continuously provided across the country during the period, according to the official. Authorities introduced specialized, small-scale recruitment programs to match enterprise needs with college graduates' job searches, while also providing employment guidance and skills training for job-seeking graduates. Meanwhile, measures were taken to strengthen the coordination between labor-sending and labor-receiving areas, which stabilized the scale of migrant workers, especially for those lifted out of poverty. Vocational skills training focused on priority industries and groups. Shotlist: Beijing, China - Oct 29, 2025: 1. Press conference in progress; 2.
