The head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has expressed confidence that China will host a successful APEC CEO Summit 2026, emphasizing that the country will take the opportunity to champion multilateralism. CCPIT chairman Ren Hongbin attended the closing and handover ceremony of the APEC CEO Summit 2025 in Gyeongju, the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Friday and delivered a speech as the chairperson of the 2026 summit, welcoming the business community from the Asia-Pacific region to attend the 2026 summit in China and to actively participate in the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo and other economic and trade activities. He expressed the hope that all parties will promote common development in the Asia-Pacific region through regional connectivity cooperation and join hands to build an open, dynamic, resilient and peaceful Asia-Pacific community. "Next year, China will host the (APEC) CEO Summit for the third time. And I think I'm very confident because I have a very, I should say, very experienced expertise within CCPIT, and also, I think we have a very large group of enterprises who have been engaged in APEC issues for many years. So I think that is a very strong basis for us to be very confident in organizing next year's CEO summit," said Ren following the handover ceremony. "Next year is a very important year, not only for China, but for the world. I think we just want to make full use of this platform to showcase, to demonstrate the stance of China, to adhere to real multilateralism. And also, I think it's a very important platform for us to demonstrate that China is always a strong supporter to the multilateral trading system, taking the WTO at its core," said Ren. Themed "Bridge, Business, Beyond," the 2025 summit was attended by over 1,000 representatives from the political and business sectors of APEC economies. They engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as regional economic integration, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, global finance, and biomedicine. The CCPIT organized over 100 enterprise representatives to attend the summit. SHOTLIST: Gyeongju, ROK - Oct 29-31, 2025 1. Various of venue, sign of APEC CEO Summit; Gyeongju, ROK - Oct 31, 2025 2.
