Youth basketball game in China descends into chaos as parents brawl on court after kids' scuffle
On November 3, during the 3rd “City Legends” Junior Basketball Elite Tournament in Panjin, Liaoning Province, a scuffle broke out after a foul on the court escalated into a brawl involving parents.
During a fast break, a young player in a dark blue jersey was fouled by an opponent in a light blue jersey. In response, the dark-blue player angrily threw the ball at the opposing player, sparking a brief physical altercation.
Although referees quickly separated the children, the situation took a shocking turn when the parent of the dark-blue player, a man wearing glasses and a grey shirt, suddenly rushed onto the court and shoved the light-blue player to the ground.
The other child’s parent immediately joined in, leading to a chaotic brawl between adults involving shoving, kicking, and punching that lasted more than 20 seconds.
Event organisers later confirmed that the incident had been handled by police but did not release specific details. According to insiders, the man in grey eventually agreed to compensate the other side with 25,000 yuan (about £2,700) to settle the dispute.
