First look at ultra long-range jet that will fly for 22 hours in world’s longest flight. This is the first look at a passenger jet that will fly non-stop for 22 hours — making aviation history. Unveiled by Australia’s national carrier Qantas, the ultra-long-range Airbus will connect Sydney directly to London and New York. The aircraft is being assembled in Toulouse, France, with its major components already joined. The A350-1000ULR is part of an ambitious plan to link Australia’s east coast with the world’s biggest cities, without stopovers. Each flight will last up to 22 hours, saving travellers around four hours compared to current routes. The aircraft will carry just 238 passengers and include a new “Wellbeing Zone” — with stretch handles, exercise screens, and a hydration station. Qantas is also launching a new Economy Plus class with more legroom, priority boarding, and extra locker space. The first of 12 A350-1000ULRs will be delivered in late 2026, ready for takeoff in early 2027.
