Trump Pardons Rudy Giuliani and Allies in 2020 Election Probe. President Donald Trump has issued a sweeping pardon for several political allies accused of efforts to overturn the 2020 election, according to the Justice Department’s Pardon Attorney, Ed Martin. The proclamation, posted on X by Martin, lists prominent figures including Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. The document, dated November 7 and bearing Trump’s signature, declares a “full, complete, and unconditional pardon” for dozens of individuals. It describes the move as ending “a grave national injustice” and part of Trump’s effort to pursue “national reconciliation.” The pardons cover only federal charges, meaning state-level prosecutions — such as those in Georgia — remain unaffected. The proclamation specifically excludes Trump himself from its scope. The announcement follows recent clemency decisions by Trump, including for a retired NYPD officer convicted of stalking on behalf of China and ex-MLB player Darryl Strawberry for a 1995 tax case.
