Netanyahu has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty. Trump argued that the trial is politically motivated and distracts Netanyahu from leading Israel. Herzog’s office said any pardon must go through formal legal procedures. During his recent visit to Israel, Trump publicly repeated his call for Netanyahu’s pardon.
