- November 13, 2025 Israeli security forces uncovered and dismantled a major Hamas terror cell in Bethlehem in recent weeks, preventing planned suicide bombings and shooting attacks against Israeli civilians and security personnel. The joint operation—conducted by the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police—involved reserve forces from the Etzion Brigade, as well as units from Duvdevan and the Counter-Terror Unit (LOTAR). Approximately 50 suspects were arrested and transferred for Shin Bet questioning. More than 15 operations were carried out, including several daytime raids, during which an M16 rifle was seized. According to security officials, one of the terrorist squads was at an advanced stage of preparing attacks intended to be carried out imminently. Authorities stated that the operation prevented large-scale attacks that could have resulted in significant loss of life among both civilians and soldiers.
