Los Angeles, United States - November 16, 2025 11/15/2025 09:00 pm GMT-0800 CASTAIC, Calif. – Two vehicles became stranded Saturday night after drivers attempted to push through fast-moving floodwater pouring off the Canyon Fire burn scar. The incident unfolded shortly before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Hasley Canyon Road and Del Valle Road, where an SUV and a sedan — both occupied — became trapped in several feet of raging runoff. Firefighters from nearby Station 143 assisted the occupants to safety. The flooding hit just blocks from the footprint of the August 7 Canyon Fire, which scorched 5,300 acres across Los Angeles and Ventura counties and left the terrain vulnerable to heavy runoff during storms. As of 9:45 p.m., the California Highway Patrol had shut down the intersection due to hazardous conditions.
