Albufeira, Portugal - November 15, 2025 A video filmed by X user Albufeira Funassi on November 15, 2025, shows the immediate aftermath of an extremely rare EF2-equivalent tornado that struck Albufeira in the Algarve that morning. The footage slowly pans across a once-lush caravan and mobile home park, likely a holiday resort or camping area, now reduced to wreckage. Dozens of caravans, mobile homes, and RVs lie flipped upside down, torn open, crumpled like tin cans, or hurled hundreds of feet away. Roofs are ripped off, walls are flattened, and debris is scattered in every direction. Palm trees stand snapped in half or stripped bare, some completely defoliated and bent by the force of the wind. The ground is littered with twisted metal, insulation, broken furniture, clothing, and mud left behind by heavy rain. In the distance, damaged buildings and overturned cars are visible, while stunned residents begin to assess the destruction under a gray, post-storm sky. There is no narration on the video, only the unsettling sound of wind, distant voices, and the crunch of debris underfoot as the filmer walks through the ruins. The clip is captioned “Albufeira, 15 nov 2025” and has become one of the first and most widely shared recordings of the surprise tornado that injured dozens and caused millions in damage across the Albufeira area, a weather event almost unheard of in Portugal. It has since been licensed by numerous international news outlets.
