US, Los Angeles: Burbank Rain
Los Angeles, United States - November 18, 2025 11/17/2025 06:30 pm GMT-0800 BURBANK, Calif. – A strong band of Pacific moisture brought heavy rain to Los Angeles County Monday evening, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Warning for central portions of the county, including Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Santa Clarita, and the foothill communities along the San Gabriel Mountains. As of 6:49 p.m., rainfall rates between 0.4 and 0.7 inches per hour were recorded across the warned area, with officials warning that flash flooding, mudslides, rockslides, and minor debris flows were either ongoing or expected to begin shortly. The Eaton burn scar remained a particular area of concern, along with canyon roads and low-lying urban areas prone to rapid runoff. Forecasters with the Weather Prediction Center reported that although overall rain rates were gradually decreasing, pockets of heavier showers remained possible into the evening, especially along the Transverse Ranges, where totals up to 1 to 1.5 inches could accumulate. A deep moisture plume — carrying precipitable water values near one inch — continued to funnel into the mountains on southerly winds of 20–25 mph, sustaining periods of moderate to heavy rain. With soils already saturated from earlier rainfall, even modest additional showers could produce rapid runoff and localized flooding. Urban flooding remained possible throughout the evening hours, particularly in areas with poor drainage and along the Angeles Crest Highway corridor. Residents were urged to avoid flooded roads and stay alert for falling rocks, mudslides, and sudden debris flows as conditions evolve.
