Storyline: Beijing parks, scenic spots cash in on Autumn colors [Voice_over] In many outdoor parks in Beijing, the orange, red, and yellow autumn foliage is drawing crowds and boosting business. One popular destination to take in the fall scenery is Xiangshan Park where tourists snap photos of the crimson leaves and check out souvenirs inspired by the rich colors. [Sound_bite] Tourist: "I've collected some leaves on the way. I also bought this small souvenir for about 3 U.S. dollars. I think it's totally worth it." [Voice_over] Besides keychains and plushie toys, the park has also launched "Maple Leaf Coffee" in its cafés. Staff from the park say revenue from autumn related products increased by about 10 percent this year. The foliage economy has stretched beyond the city center. A red maple forest in a Beijing suburb has attracted over 20,000 tourists this season, which means great business for local fruit growers. Suburb officials say fruit and vegetable sales exceeded 130,000 kilograms during this year's red leaf season, a 70 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Beijing's autumn foliage usually reaches its peak brilliance between October and mid-November. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
