Qatar has said it is actively working to facilitate negotiations between Hamas and Israel regarding a second-phase ceasefire agreement for the Gaza Strip. Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said on Tuesday at a routine press conference that mediation efforts are actively underway, with all parties involved maintaining close communication. Qatar hopes that Hamas and Israel can initiate negotiations promptly, he said. "We are working very closely, of course, and we think that we should be pushing the parties to stage two very, very soon. All of that is putting a lot of pressure on the deal as it stands today. But we remain committed with our partners to push further and to make sure that we get a positive result and move to stage two," said the spokesman. Al-Ansari also condemned Israel's repeated attacks on the Gaza Strip. SHOTLIST: Doha, Qatar - Dec 2, 2025 1. Press conference of Qatari Foreign Ministry in progress; 2.
