1. VARIOUS OF WILD MOUNTAIN GOATS SILHOUETTED AGAINST FULL MOON AS THEY APPEAR ON THE RIDGE OF PAGAN MOUNTAIN
VAN, TÜRKİYE - DECEMBER 3, 2025: Wild mountain goats, a protected species in Türkiye, were filmed moving across the snowy ridge of Pagan Mountain in the Gurpinar district of Van as a full moon rose behind them, creating a spectacular natural scene.

The rare footage shows the goats appearing in silhouette as the full moon rises over the mountain, offering a striking glimpse into the species’ life in one of Türkiye’s most remote landscapes.

The wild goats, listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, inhabit the steep cliffs of the Norduz region at about 2,500 meters. Thanks to conservation efforts by wildlife authorities, security forces, and strong opposition from local residents to illegal hunting, their population has steadily increased.

At dusk, the herds descend toward lower, snow-free pastures to forage, returning to higher ground at nightfall to shelter from predators and harsh weather.
