Syria: IDF Shoots Two Syrians At Golan Checkpoint
Syria - December 10, 2025 Military officials said riots erupted as soldiers operated in the area, prompting security concerns. The IDF said several people moved toward the troops in what was perceived to be a threatening manner. Soldiers fired warning shots into the air, but when the individuals continued advancing, they shot at the legs of two “main instigators". The crowd dispersed shortly after, and the IDF forces withdrew from the area. Syrian media said local residents had gathered to protest the establishment of an Israeli checkpoint, with footage appearing to show members of Syria's internal security forces passing by IDF troops on the highway following the incident.
