North Bend, United States - December 09, 2025 Heavy rain has triggered flooding and mudslides across multiple highways in Washington, leaving sections of roads closed and authorities monitoring the situation closely. Eastbound I-90 in North Bend remains open after geotechnical experts evaluated a hillside where mud and rock had come down onto the highway earlier in the day. Officials continue to monitor the area for further hazards. In Hyak, a 1-mile stretch of SR 906 is closed due to flooding and pavement damage caused by the storm. Authorities warn that the closure will be extended as engineers develop a repair plan, although homes, businesses, the maintenance shed, and the state park remain accessible. Cle Elum has also been severely affected. SR 10 will remain closed overnight from the SR 970 junction to Hayward Road as water from the Teanaway River floods the scenic highway. Geotechnical teams are assessing the hillside above the road while more rain is forecast. Video from Cle Elum shows the severity of the flooding and the ongoing impact on travel.
