7. MARZUK ZAID ALWAN, PALESTINIAN MAN, SPEAKING (Arabic) TO CAMERA GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - DEC. 11, 2025: Efforts to retrieve the bodies of Palestinians buried in the courtyard of Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital during intense Israeli attacks continued on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Rescue workers are exhuming remains that were laid to rest on the hospital grounds when heavy bombardment made proper burials impossible.

Many of the bodies had been recorded as “unidentified” at the time due to the conditions during the assaults.

Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 70,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured nearly 171,000 others in Gaza in a more than two-year war that came to a halt under a ceasefire deal that took effect on Oct. 10.
