The meeting took place on the sidelines of the "International Forum on Peace and Trust."
During the talks, the two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and the latest regional and international developments, according to statements from the meeting.
Highlighting the ongoing cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, President Putin stated that the two countries are discussing potential collaboration in the fields of gas and electricity.
"Significant work continues in the field of agriculture," Putin added, noting that work is also progressing on major key projects.
These projects include the Bushehr nuclear power plant and the development of infrastructure, specifically the International North-South Transport Corridor – a major multi-modal route connecting Russia to Iran and onward to India.
