Baby’s joyful reaction to Christmas choir rehearsal melts hearts
A four-month-old baby's joyful reaction to a Christmas choir rehearsal is enough to melt hearts for the holiday season.
The moment, filmed last week, shows Myriam Bénard Lafontaine holding baby Senna during a dress rehearsal of "12 Days of Christmas" at Timiskaming District Secondary School in Ontario, Canada."
Strapped to her mum's chest, she the tot smiled and laughed as she heard the singing and felt her mum belting out the lyrics.
The performance was part of a benefit concert raising funds for local food banks.
The clip also marked a meaningful return to choir for the baby's mother, who shared her love of music with her daughter.
"We were doing a dress rehearsal with the concert band, and we were singing the song 'Twelve Days of Christmas,'" said Myriam, 30, an executive administrator in Ontario. "
"One of our family friends, Karen Ross, who is in the concert band, took a video of Senna reacting to the choir singing, and that's what led up to the video."
The performance took place at Temiskaming District Secondary School as part of a benefit concert, with proceeds supporting local food banks in the area.
The charitable aspect of the event adds an extra layer of meaning to the viral moment, demonstrating how community music programs can bring people together for good causes.
For Myriam, returning to the choir after a decade-long hiatus has been particularly meaningful.
"I've always been part of the choir since a young age. And now that I was on maternity leave, I decided to get back into it after about 10 years," she said. "
"It's always been something that I've been doing, but had stopped doing because of school and all of that."
The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as Myriam was able to share her love of music with her daughter while contributing to a worthy cause.
