Hunter Biden Was Disbarred in Connecticut After Gun and Tax Convictions. A Connecticut judge disbarred Hunter Biden after finding he violated the state’s attorney conduct rules following complaints tied to his federal gun and tax convictions. Biden agreed to be disbarred and admitted to attorney misconduct in a deal with disciplinary authorities, though he did not admit to criminal wrongdoing. The decision followed Biden’s earlier disbarment in Washington, D.C., which was cited by the Connecticut court. Hunter Biden appeared virtually at the hearing with his lawyer but did not address the court before the ruling was issued. He was convicted last year in Delaware on three felony gun charges for falsely claiming he was not using drugs when purchasing a firearm in 2018. Biden also faced federal tax charges in California and had agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor and felony counts before being pardoned by his father, former President Joe Biden. The judge ruled that Biden violated multiple ethical standards, including conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation. Admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1997 after graduating from Yale Law School, Biden lost his license following disciplinary complaints despite objections from one complainant.
