This is the dramatic moment a lake-effect snowstorm blanketed roads in Baldwinsville, New York.

Footage captured by Joe from inside his moving vehicle shows heavily snow-covered streets on December 14, significantly reducing visibility.

Joe said: 'Another six inches of snow today in Baldwinsville, New York. Came home from New York City, not one flake of snow in Syracuse, seven miles away.'

The National Weather Service reported that as of Sunday night, at least 3.5 inches of fresh ice had fallen in the area over the past 24 hours.

Authorities urged motorists to drive with caution, keep headlights on, and avoid unnecessary travel while roads remain hazardous.

Lake-effect snow is a weather phenomenon that happens when cold, dry air passes over a relatively warmer body of water, such as a large lake. As the air moves over the water, it picks up moisture and heat, causing the air to rise and form clouds.
