Storyline: North China's ski resorts see tourism surge [Voice_over] A surge of visitors is descending on Mohe, China's northernmost city in northeastern Heilongjiang Province, as the ice and snow tourism season starts to sizzle. Beyond skiing, which there is plenty of, things like "snowmobile forest adventures" are popular. Or the "water-splashing-into-ice" photo shoot, a unique experience in which participants fling water into the air that instantly freezes, creating a feathery circle above them. For people who've never experienced the cold, it's a wonderful keepsake. [Sound_bite] Zheng Xiaoshu, tourist: "It's very meaningful for me as it's my first time to experience winter in the north. The staff are really friendly and helpful." [Voice_over] Elsewhere in northeast China's Jilin Province, resorts are opening the new ski season with various ceremonies and upgraded equipment. Some like the Tianding Mountain resort have fully overhauled their hardware and services including adding 1,000 new sets of ski rental gear, and more than 120 ski instructors. [Sound_bite] Wu Fan, ski enthusiast: "I come here every year. The up-to-date skiing facilities and the good safety measures allow us to have a fantastic skiing experience." [Voice_over] According to data analysis firm iiMedia Research, the market size of China's ice and snow sports industry is expected to worth more than 16.5 billion U.S. dollars this year.
