Cleveland, United States - December 12, 2025 Babies in the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit were dressed in “ugly” holiday sweaters during a festive moment inside the hospital. Parents, nurses, and caregivers helped dress the babies in the themed outfits. The designs included snowmen in cozy knitted styles, gingerbread figures with a bite taken out, flamingos adding tropical flair to winter, and looks inspired by classic holiday favorites, including a “fragile” surprise. Each baby wore a crocheted hat and a felt sweater created as keepsakes for their families. The hospital said every baby in the NICU has unique medical needs and is carefully monitored around the clock by Cleveland Clinic Children’s clinical team. “Sharing these special moments with families brings a sense of joy and normalcy during an otherwise challenging time,” said Therese Razzante, NICU family support specialist at Cleveland Clinic Children’s. “These celebrations help parents embrace milestones, build meaningful connections, and reflect the unwavering compassion of our caregivers in the NICU.” For parents Casey and Tyler Graber, whose daughter Ava has been in the hospital for more than 100 days, the moment stood out during a long journey. “We loved seeing Ava in her holiday outfit. It was the perfect mix of sweetness and fun. It’s a memory we’ll share with family and Ava for years to come.”
