Billionaires could soon check into the ultimate luxury getaway: a hotel on the Moon. US startup Galactic Resource Utilization Space plans to open a lunar hotel for wealthy tourists, with its first guests potentially arriving as early as 2032. Those with £750,000 to spare can already place a deposit for a five-night stay that could ultimately cost more than £7.5 million. The inflatable hotel will be built on Earth, delivered to the Moon by a heavy lander, and initially host up to four guests with views of the lunar surface and Earth. It will feature air and water recycling, oxygen generation, temperature control, radiation protection, and an emergency escape system, and is designed to operate for 10 years. Guests are promised moonwalks, rover driving, and even low-gravity golf, experiences once reserved for astronauts. Founder Skyler Chan, 22, says the hotel is not just a luxury venture but the first step toward permanent human settlement beyond Earth. Construction could begin in 2029, backed by investors linked to SpaceX and Nvidia, though the project still awaits regulatory approval.
