Gaza - December 26, 2025 A group of 168 male and female doctors held a graduation ceremony amid the remains of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, once the territory’s largest medical complex and now heavily damaged by months of bombardment. The ceremony was held among destroyed buildings and collapsed wards, symbolizing resilience and commitment to the medical profession despite the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe. Graduates wore gowns and posed for photos in the rubble, honoring colleagues killed or displaced during the war. Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s primary medical hub, has been rendered largely inoperable, with severe shortages of equipment, medicine, and electricity. Health officials say Gaza’s medical system remains on the brink of collapse as attacks on healthcare infrastructure continue.
