The total cotton output reached 6.641 million tons, marking an increase of 477,000 tons or 7.7 percent compared with 2024. The total sown area of cotton stood at 2,979,200 hectares (44.687 million mu), up by 140,900 hectares (2.1 million mu) or an increase of 5.0 percent compared with that in 2024. The cotton yield per unit area amounted to 2229.0 kg/ha (148.6 kg/mu), up by 57.4 kg/ha (6.6 kg/mu) or an increase of 2.6 percent compared with that in 2024.
