Rooftop Fire Breaks Out at Revolver Hotel in Glasgow’s Merchant City, Roads Closed as Crews Tackle Blaze

Flames and thick smoke were seen billowing from the rooftop of the Revolver Hotel in Glasgow’s Merchant City district on December 27, 2025, as firefighters rushed to the scene late at night.
The footage shows the fire spreading across the fourth floor, with smoke pouring into the night sky while crowds nearby were seen evacuating the area. Emergency vehicles with blue lights surrounded the building as crews worked to contain the blaze, with the red LED lighting of nearby buildings illuminating the scene.
The incident occurred close to Wilson Street, home to the popular House of Gods entertainment complex, prompting the hashtag #HouseOfGodsFire to trend online due to the blaze’s proximity to the nightlife hotspot.
According to the latest updates, no injuries have been reported. Police closed off parts of Glassford Street as a precaution while fire crews continued their response and safety checks.
