Mexico: At Least 13 Killed After Train Derails in Mexico
Oaxaca, Mexico - December 29, 2025 At least 13 people were killed and 98 others injured, including five in serious condition, after an Interoceanic Train derailed in the state of Oaxaca, southern Mexico. Emergency services rushed to the scene to assist passengers and transport the wounded to nearby hospitals. Authorities said rescue operations were carried out amid difficult conditions, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the derailment. The Interoceanic Corridor railway is a key infrastructure project connecting Mexico’s Pacific and Gulf coasts.
