Thai dancers stage Christmas performance for tourists at airport
This is the heartwarming moment a group of Thai dancers staged a festive Christmas performance for tourists at an airport.
Eight women performed to the sounds of a Piphat orchestra for travellers at Chiang Mai International Airport to welcome them on Christmas Eve, December 24.
Footage shows the group, dressed in elegant Thai Siwalai dresses topped with Santa hats, gracefully spinning.
Each dancer held a star lantern in one hand while the other was extended outward with the palm upturned in a traditional gesture.
The sounds of xylophones and gong circles can be heard in the background as the dancers move to the rhythmic beat.
Local media reported that the special performance was held to celebrate Thai Vietjet's inaugural flight of its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft, which serves the Bangkok–Chiang Mai route and several other key domestic destinations.
