Various of rockets being fired; explosions at sea Storyline Forces of the Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) successfully tested their joint precision strike and other capabilities during their second day of large-scale, live-fire exercises around the Taiwan Island on Tuesday. Day two of the exercises, code-named "Justice Mission 2025," started at around 08:00 with multiple destroyers, frigates, fighters and bombers mobilized on subjects of identification and verification, warning and expulsion, simulated strikes, assault on maritime targets, as well as anti-air and anti-submarine operations to the north and south of the Taiwan Island. The drills tested the forces' capabilities of sea-air coordination and integrated blockade and control. "We successively dispatched multiple batches of military aircraft and, in collaboration with the naval formations, focused on subjects such as identification and verification, warning and expulsion, and simulated strikes, which effectively tested our capabilities of sea-air coordination and integrated blockade and control. We have full combat-readiness and are capable of fighting at all times to resolutely safeguard the interests and territorial integrity of our motherland," said Xiao Linjun, an officer of the theater command's air force. On Tuesday afternoon, the task forces of amphibious assault ships, destroyers, frigates, and unmanned aerial vehicles were dispatched to conduct drills in waters to the east of the Taiwan Island, focusing on subjects of all-dimensional force projection, breaching and raid by elite forces, and seizure of key ports. These drills successfully tested the forces' capabilities of coordination, systemic operations, and precision strikes on key targets. Tuesday also saw long-range rocket launchers being dispatched to simulate precision strikes against targets in waters to the north of the Taiwan Island, testing the forces' capabilities of blockade and control of the island. "Upon receiving the order, we conducted live-fire drills targeting the designated maritime areas to the north of the Taiwan Island. They effectively tested our combat capabilities of blocking the island and denying access to it, and achieved the desired results," said Dai Fuzhou, an officer of the theater command's ground force. At around noon, another long-range firepower unit of the PLA Ground Force conducted a round of precision strike operations, launching volleys of rockets to the designated waters. All simulated targets were eliminated with high accuracy. "As a new-type and new-domain combat force of the ground force, all our officers and soldiers remain on high alert with high morale as well as the unbreakable will, strong confidence, firm determination and formidable ability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. As long as the commander gives the order, we will forcefully launch strikes at any time and resolutely crush all plots and acts of splitting up our motherland," said Wang Dongliang, an officer of the 73rd Group Army of the PLA Ground Force.
