China: AI revolutionizes traditional industries in southwest China's Guizhou
Storyline AI revolutionizes traditional industries in southwest China's Guizhou [Voice_over] Artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of traditional industries in southwest China's Guizhou Province. Like Miao embroidery, a distinctive artistic treasure that's getting a new lease on life thanks to large AI models. This Miao embroidery company has developed an AI model that can generate clothing design drafts in under 30 seconds through simple text prompts or image uploads. Embroidery patterns are then stitched by automated machinery before skilled embroiderers delicately add the final touches by hand. [Sound_bite] Xiang Keyi, Designer, Miao embroidery enterprise in Guizhou Province: "Our AI model is connected to a protected database containing more than 10,000 Miao embroidery patterns, enabling us to shorten the design cycle from 1-2 weeks to just 2-3 days." [Sound_bite] Zhang Ya, Communications manager, Miao embroidery enterprise in Guizhou Province: "With large AI models, our daily output has increased by 20 to 60 times. Our company's annual output value has surged from several hundred thousand yuan to tens of millions today. So far, we have empowered over 2,000 Miao embroiderers, enabling them to find employment and increase income right at their doorstep." [Voice_over] AI is also making inroads into the province's farming sector. In the provincial capital Guiyang, an egg farm is leveraging an AI model to manage its henhouses with remarkable efficiency. With the help of AI, one feeder can manage a coop of over 78,000 hens that produce around 77,000 eggs daily. [Sound_bite] Zhang Hong, Head of egg farm in Guiyang: "With the AI system now in place, the egg yield has risen by 1–2 percentage points, and the mortality rate has fallen by approximately 5 percentage points." [Voice_over] Guizhou has already developed over 110 large AI model application scenarios and aims to expand this number to more than 500 across all industries by 2027.
