Phoenix, United States - January 14, 2026 01/14/2026 02:00 am GMT-0700 AVONDALE, Ariz. – Avondale police officers and Avondale Fire Department crews responded to the intersection of 107th Avenue and Thomas Road for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified gunshot victim near the southwest corner of the intersection. The victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition via Maricopa Ambulance. Avondale police established a perimeter in a residential area east of the shooting scene. Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies and a helicopter from the Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to assist Avondale officers as they searched for the outstanding shooting suspect. The perimeter was dissolved after approximately two hours. It is unknown if the suspect has been apprehended. Avondale police established a crime scene near the shooting location, closing 107th Avenue in both directions, south of Thomas Road. Avondale police were expected to remain at the scene throughout the early morning hours while the incident was investigated.
