Exclusive- Viral video resurfaces alleging New York City school staffer threatened driver during road incident
A video filmed two years ago has resurfaced online, showing a man alleged to be a public high school dean, gym teacher, and youth baseball coach shouting threats and slurs at a driver during a roadside confrontation. The clip, originally posted by Instagram user Matthew (@mattykevs), has gone viral again as viewers raise concerns about the man’s continued employment at John Bowne High School.
Matthew said the incident began when the man nearly collided with his car across multiple lanes of traffic, prompting him to start recording. He alleges the man then chased his vehicle, shouted a violent threat, and used a sexual hate slur before stepping out of his car. Matthew later recognised the man’s shirt as belonging to a youth baseball team he reportedly coached.
According to Matthew, the staff member was temporarily reassigned after the video first circulated, but later returned to working with students. He says that since the clip went viral again, he has received messages and statements from individuals claiming past inappropriate behaviour by the man, which he has compiled in a petition calling for his removal.
